Company Overview
Bluetongue Brewery was founded in November 2003 by four Hunter based entrepreneurs who wanted to create a premium beer with a strong Australian heritage. Their vision was to produce a range of beers suitable for the local palate, to delight with original flavours and deliver an unexpected and fresh beer experience.
Over the past 6 years, Bluetongue Brewery has grown to become one of the fastest growing players in the Domestic premium beer market. In December 2007, Bluetongue Brewery was acquired by Pacific Beverages, a joint venture between Coca-Cola Amatil Pty Ltd and SABMiller plc. Shortly after the acquisition, Pacific Beverages announced the construction of a new state-of-the-art brewery at Warnervale on the Central Coast of New South Wales. The $120 million Bluetongue Brewery, which will have an initial capacity of 50 million litres, expandable to 150 million litres over time, will be the state’s second largest brewery. It will eventually become a leading tourist attraction in the region, featuring a visitors’ centre, beer-tasting and cellar door facilities and brewery tours.
Bluetongue Brewery prides itself on a passionate team of local brewers who oversee the creation of our brands. The brewers approach their craft with total care and commitment, ensuring the highest of standards are met across the brewing process.
