How can I prepare for my interview/assessment centre?
The questions you will be asked will be specific to the position you have applied for. Be prepared for questions which ask you to explain your functional/technical skills.
We also use behavioural interviewing questions where you will be asked to provide examples of how you have demonstrated competencies in your previous roles that relate to the advertised position. When answering these questions you must talk about a specific situation, describe the task that you needed to complete, explain the action you took step by step and then tell us the result or outcome of that situation.
For some roles we hold assessment centres which may include an interview, a role play exercise or other assessment exercise. You will be advised during the recruitment process what to expect at your assessment centre and the types of assessment you will participate in.
What happens after the interview/assessment centre?
Whether you are successful or not you will receive honest feedback as quickly as possible from a member of the recruitment team.
Is there a psychological assessment involved during the recruitment process?
Psychological assessment may be used within the recruitment process. These assessments could consist of a number of different components including verbal, numerical, abstract and /or mechanical reasoning. You will be advised prior to assessment which assessments you will need to complete.
You may also be requested to complete a personality profile which gives us an opportunity to understand your work preferences.
The assessment tool is used in conjunction with other selection tools (such as application and /or interview) to select the most suitable candidate for the position.
You will receive verbal feedback on your assessments result from an accredited recruitment consultant.
Will I be expected to complete a medical assessment?
For some positions we do conduct pre-employment medicals.
These assessments are conducted by workplace health solutions specialists.
The pre-employment medical is a tool for ensuring that an employee will be safe and capable of performing the position they have applied for.
Will I be expected to provide referees or to undergo any background checks?
Yes, as part of the selection process candidates will be asked to provide at least two referees who the recruitment team can contact by phone.
It is preferable that these referees are or have been your direct manager/supervisor.
References will only be conducted by members of the recruitment team after you have given permission for your nominated referees to be contacted.
