Sales & Marketing
The National Sales and Marketing Team is made up of over 100 dedicated and talented people working in the areas of Grocery, Foodservice, Industrial, Commercial Support, Marketing and New Business Development. Our Mission is to become the supplier of choice in every category that we operate. Our focus is to grow each of our customer’s business.
This business unit turns over $400 million per annum, operates in 7 categories and manages over 300 core SKU’s. Our brand portfolio is made of market leading brands such as Goulburn Valley, SPC, Ardmona and IXL. New Product Development (NPD) and significant investment in our brands and people development is of paramount importance to SPCA Sales and Marketing.
International
The international division is an important part of the SPCA business and, as a sales channel accounts for approx 50% of all fruit processed. In recent years, significant progress has been made in increasing the profile of our branded business in the UK, South East Asia, Middle East, Japan and Germany. In addition to the sales development of our own brands, the division also manufactures products for sale under retail customers’ private label programs.
Finance
The Finance Department is responsible for establishing and maintaining corporate accounting records and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Finance is also responsible for the annual budget, tax reporting functions, internal audit, and financial analysis. In addition to these vital core functions, the division also incorporates the Information Technology, Crop Supply and Payroll departments of the company.
Manufacturing
With three manufacturing sites within Australia and an additional two overseas sites in Thailand and Spain, the Manufacturing division of SPCA certainly offers variety. With a focus on OH&S and the environment, the division is also investing heavily in automation to improve efficiencies.
Technical
The Department encompasses a wide range of fields, such as Food Technology, Science, Microbiology, Industrial Engineering, and Packaging. The main focus of the Department is to drive the company forward with New Products, New Packaging, and New Processing methods. As well as that, the Department monitors all the production processes, the purchased ingredients and packaging, so that the company produces good quality safe products on time for all our customers. The Department monitors production on three sites in the Goulburn Valley and two sites overseas. It is important that the Technical people continually liaise with the Manufacturing, Marketing, and Finance Departments to achieve the goal of quality production, produced through quality processes, with quality people
Human Resources
The Human Resources division is very important to SPCA. The goal of Human Resources is to administer proactive and strategic programs to enable employees to perform at their highest capability in each and every role within the company. This department focuses on the following areas: seasonal recruitment, corporate OH&S, employee training, career development, compensation and benefits, and rewards and recognition.
Supply Chain & Logistics
This is the most recently created division, resulting from the incorporation of the following departments: Corporate Planning, Procurement, Logistics and Capital Engineering. This division works very closely together to ensure achievement of key performance indicators. The group manages the planning for more than 2,000 products across 5 manufacturing sites (2 international). It purchases supplies in excess of $200 million from 1,350 vendors and organises storage and shipment of products to customers. In addition, the group manages a substantial capital program in the order of $100 million (3 year plan) to upgrade facilities.
